Topsy.com is another real time social media search engine, but  it also has an advanced search page allowing you to limit your search by date, language, a specific type of data (i.e. tweets, photos, or videos), within a partciular Web site only, or within a Twitter users page. The date limit thus allows a search of past comments made by a Twitter user.
